The lobster on the right obviously is the normal one. There are no bands on the yellow one because it was a female bearing eggs and only brought in to take pictures of.

Kevin O’Maley and his crew swung by the dock with a Blue Lobster that they caught just off the Breakwater when lobstering today. Being the stand-up men they are, they will be bringing it to The Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center so that the community can enjoy checking it out.

What is very encouraging and a testament to the conservation efforts of the lobster industry is how many short lobsters there are that will be there to be harvested as they grow. You can see how many small lobsters get thrown back and it is quite a few, to live and grow for next season’s lobster harvest!
